Membership Requirements

The first step in becoming a member of C-RAD is to be affiliated with an organization or agency that provides professional search and rescue services in the area of avalanche rescue. Those organizations or agencies could be ski patrols, search and rescue teams, or sheriff’s offices that respond to avalanche  incidents.

It’s not that we don’t want everyone to learn how to train a dog or train themselves for organized avalanche rescue, it’s that we want our members to have a platform (ability to eventually field) for their training, and being affiliated with an organization that does so provides this platform.

Each organization we partner with ultimately has the final say in who from their program participates with C-RAD. Members must agree to C-RAD’s bylaws, policies and standards. Once a member becomes validated, he/she may participate in voting events related to C-RAD and the Board of Directors. All members have the opportunity to attend trainings, courses and events, as well as receive other member benefits when available.
